I am not familar with that particular model, I assume it shares little engineering in common wioht the ill-fated Match 42. There are a number of threads on this board about Bavaria, for example http://www.sailnet.com/forums/buying...sailboats.html.

I would not want to do business with a company that handled the Match 42 disaster the way that Bavaria did.

If you're not familiar with what Sailingfool is talking about, the Bavaria Match 42 had a slight problem with the design that led to the keel falling off. It ended up killing a few people too. Believe they had similar problems on the 38, but not 100% on that.

My feeble mind tells me the Ocean 42 is a center-cockpit boat, so it's probably unlikely related to the Match 42. Otherwise, I have a good friend who owned a B-36 for several years and loved the boat.

If nothing else, this quy is deliberate in his search for a boat?????

I looked at the Ocean 40 a few years ago. I believe it and the 42 were available in center or aft cockpit confiurations.
