I'm going to go with thesnort on this one. Looking at your two posts regarding questions about possible new boats, my immediate reaction is, "go read a half dozen books and walk around some yards."
I mean 100% absolutely no disrespect. I was there. We all were there. There's A LOT to learn to become an educated consumer when it comes to sailboats, but don't let it be overwhelming.
Read some Don Casey, The Annapolis Book of Seamanship and pepper in some "romantic" books about tales at sea to keep your dreams and interests alive. Go visit boat yards and climb on LOTS of boats through all this reading. It will really let you make sense of everything.
Buying a boat takes far more knowledge of many things than does buying a car. Keep posting here to. These guys have an amazing amount of knowledge that has helped me tremendously. All this will help you be an educated consumer that has a good chance of getting a boat that meets your requirements.
Oh, and above all, be REALLY truthful with yourself about those requirements.
Good luck, start reading, and keep the questions coming!
