Youngbucks boat list

Alright, for those who haven't read my previous thread I am planning on sailing the world, not neccessarly around the world but you never know. Here are some boats I have been looking at so far.
Southern cross 28/31
Pearson triton
Alberg 30
westsail 28/32
Contessa/J.J. Taylor
Liberty 28
cape dory 25D/28
Pacific Seacraft($$$$$)
Dreadnought 32
Bayfield 29

I know some on that list are fairly pricey and I am on a limited budget, but sometimes deals can be found. I am a big fan of the classic double ender design, any suggestions for additions to list/opinons of the list?

BTW- since I am a youngbuck and all, headroom and creature comforts are not a neccesity, just looking for a rugged bluewater boat!

You may or will need a dink. With a double end design, where are you putting it? You may not have the deck space.

If I were to sail the world on a budget, I'd be looking at a Bristol, say 27, 29, 29.9. Not the prettiest boats but they are cheap and strong. Well, I think the 29.9 is great looking myself.

Youngbuck, were you trying to take that family roadster in your avatar on a cruise?

You should let the boys debate that hull design over at "Sailboat Design and Construction" for a while. That could be a 12 page thread!

haha that was my buddys first car, when he got another one we decided to make the station wagon into a field car. It actually made it through the pond although it wasn't that deep. We finally killed the car when we took it to a demo derby ha

Freesail- I was thinking of using an inflatable that I could deflate and stow while underway.

And this week it was decided that I am not gonna go back to college next year, So I start working full time again in may. So my budget is going to move up to probably around 20k. Its still low, but alot more then the orginal budget. I know that the boats on the list like the westsail, pacific seacraft and southern cross are usually a little pricey, but they do show up for a good price sometimes.

Pearson Triton's fall into that price category quite often, and they fit the sea-worthiness part of the request.
