Ct 44?

Reality set in and I've come to accept that I just can't afford Camaraderie at least not in the near future (i.e. 5+yrs) unless I happen get the right 6 numbers. (note: a personal friend did hit 5 of six last summer for 200K+ for him)

So, in my continuing browsing of boats under about $150k that might fit my needs when I do get around to buying something I've come across a boat that I cant find much information on. The CT44 mentioned in the title.

It seems to be an Yves-Marie Tanton design, but I don't find much more about them. I know CT has historically built pretty good boats, and I'm not running off to get a survey done or anything like that I'm just curious. (I just finished Bob Perry's book so my head is kind of into design and construction)

Here's the boat that raised the question...

All things considered (she's an early '80s Taiwan boat that will have leaking teak decks, with potential leaks around port lights, potential soft spots in the cabin top/sub deck, potential wiring issues, and don't forget to check the chain plates carefully), she's a good looking boat and design at a very attractive price. A lot of boat for the money. Nice place to have one, too. Has it been a charter boat in the USVI? If so, look at everything even more carefully...

Mine is a CT-built boat from 1978. Even with all the associated problems - real or potential - I love her. They just don't build 'em like they used to...

That boat is priced way low for such a vessel in good condition. I find myself wondering what she actually looks like and what is wrong with her.

We almost bought a similar boat and my wife was in email contact with the owner of "Missy", I don't know where she got his address but it was off of some "for sale by owner" boat site, I think it was boatus.com.

A couple of months ago that boat was listed on yachtworld as "sale pending" but that deal must have fallen through for some reason.

Anyway, if you are really interested in that boat PM me and I will find the owner's email address. He'll knock the price down at least 10%, and offered to deliver the boat to the East Coast when we were communicating with him.
