santana 21 centerboard

I'm going on tuesday to look at a santana 21. the owner tells me the centerboard is "stuck" and that the cable os broken.

Does anyone know what's involved to repair and if this is a common problem?

Any other santana specific things I should be looking for?

Any general comments on that model?

The primary cause of this is a bent centreboard caused by grounding. The next most common cause is heavy growth of barnacles, etc. If it is bent it is not easy to fix. It may cost you more than the boat. If it is just crusty and stuck in the trunk then it's not too hard to fix it.

The cable is not a big deal.
