Question Surveyors in Los Angeles area?

Can anyone recommend an excellent LA-area surveyor from personal experience? I'm a woody-powerboater looking to buy a fiberglass sailboat. Needless to say I feel a little out of my comfort zone. If you have a surveyor to recommend, could you elaborate a little on why...I've had a bad experience with a surveyor in the past and it set me back a load of $$. Any advice appreciated -- thx!

LA area Surveyor

I was very happy with the one I used a year ago. His name is John Bowman and he is based in the Newport Beach/Costa Mesa area. His phone # is 714-293-1740.

Matt Schulz - Exceedingly thorough. He will go through the boat with a very fine tooth comb for you and accompany you on the sea trial. The quote from him I remember best is "Trust is good, thorough is better..." We had him do our pre buy survey and a subsequent insurance survey.
Very pleased.
