Need help finding a boat please!

I currently own a small, home made sailboat but would like to upgrade to a manufactured performance sailboat. I am hoping to find one around 12'' long and hopefully with a trailer. I would like for it to be used a as cheap as possible. I does not matter if it needs to be worked on or restored, I can handle that. Almost any performance sailboat would work. If any one knows were to find something that fits this description, please let me know. Thanks, Bryan

Not sure about 12 ft but...

420''s are very popular, fast racing boats. They are light, seaworthy and FUN. A blast to sail. Of course being light race boats, they can go over easily. They are 420 cm, you can do the math.

If you would like a somewhat more stable daysailor, also in the 14ft range, you might try a Lightning.

Hope this helps.

I have a lead on a 420, and it does sound like a good choice, but it is over 600 miles away. Hopefully I will find one closer.

I did a little more research and found that I like the Sunfish made by Vanguard. If anyone hears of one for sell, please let me know. I would like to find one located in NM or TX.

Sunfish have been made by a number of different companies with the Alcort Sunfish being the most common and typically the least expensive. The last time that I heard a statistic hey were produced in far greater numbers than any other sailboat in history and so you have a good chance of finding one somewhere nearer rather than farther.

Believe it or not, I found one in my town just down the street. It is a complete Sunfish. I am going Monday to complete the papers. Thanks for your help. Bryan
