finding a cal25

I'm looking to get my second boat, and I am hoping for a cheap but good cal 25. Are these hard to find? Where besides craigslist should I look? I mean, in this day and age it seems only llogical to me that if you wanted to sell your boat, you'd put it on craigslist, but maybe there are other ways, i don't know.

Also, to help my choices, can anyone recommend similar boats like the cal 25. I had a cal 20, so the logical step up for me is a 25, but I'm sure thewre are comparable brands.

Thanks for advice.

It would help if you said what part of the country you're in. I know of a Cal 27 that's for sale up here in Massachusetts, but don't know if that would do you any good.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

NorthOcean ~ I just found my Cal 20 on craigslist and saw a cal 24 or 25 (cant remember) f.s. in Everett a few weeks ago. I think the owner was asking $1800 for it so it might have gone quickly.

Id recommend keeping an eye on eugene, portland, tri-cities, spokane, and some of the other c.l. sites that aren't in the puget sound (there was a cal 24 in Eugene last week but it is gone now). I was really surprised at how many sailboats were in places that were off the beaten path.

There is also a classified listing on the Cal 25 class site www dot cal25 dot com (I cant post links yet) ... looks like there are a couple in Southern California (although that is a mighty long way a $4.25/gal).

Good Luck!
