engine info

I would like some information on the various engine models like yammar westebeke and universal at what H.P. do they switch to twin cylinders and generally what year did they make them I had one boat with a single 8HP and it was great for settling the food in your stomach with the vibration but really got on my nerves if using it other than putting into and out of the slip. the bright side was it never failed to start.Anyway how about it sailors looked at some older boats and they had 16 & 18 HP yammars in them couldn''t see the plate. thanks in advance

All three companies make good products. I am a fan of Yanmars but not so much that I would not buy a boat with an engine by the other two. They each have websites that can give you more precise info.
