Well good on you I hope you enjoy it, strange no factory autopilot I would think that would be part off any new boat, good luck cant wate for the picks and it`s a very quick delivery time too.

Congrats... wow! Brand new boat! Sure puts the early 70's Ericson/Pearson/Endeavor 34's I have been looking at to shame. No autopilot does seem odd... could it be that they are thinking that people might want to choose their own system that will talk to a plotter/radar/etc.? Just a thought.

Any thoughts on a name? I think "Beneteau 49" is probably already taken.

So if it tacky to ask the question:
Original Price with your options?
Price after the super discount?
I'm not asking.
But if your willing to mention it without anyone asking I'll bet I'm not the only one not asking.

I don't mind answering that question at all. It's not a secret, as the prices are listed on Yachtworld, everywhere you look at a boat show, on tons of websites, and if you phone any dealer they'll tell you in two seconds.

The price we had negotiated on the boat, pretty much loaded up with everything we wanted (all electronics, autopilot, bow thruster, genset, air conditioning, davits, electric winches, etc., etc.) was $390,000. That was after shopping around a bit with a few dealers (all but one of which were absolutely fantastic, and I felt quite bad about having to pick one and thus not giving business to the other two). After the "Deal," we got the boat for $350,000. Not bad savings literally from one day to the next! By my estimation, we got a 2009 boat at a 2006 price, which is all to say we probably only overpaid by a factor of 2.

Our current boat is "Miracle," so the new one is going to be "Another Miracle."

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
