Look for rot and corroded fastenings. Early junks were connected with a variety of fastenings including a Chinese form of trunnels but by the 1970''s iron fastenings became the norm and they would be at the end of thier life by now. The few junks that I have sailed on had pretty poor sailing abilities except on a reach and needed to be reefed early.
