Sailfish problem

I'm new to sailnet as im sure you can all tell, but i had a question.

I just picked up a 1973ish sailfish for $50, but when i picked it up there seems to be something sliding around on the inside. Is this a major problem that needs to be adressed? Or will i be fine w/o fixing it. Also if i need to fix it, would it be difficult or easy?

Sorry for the the questions

Sailor4life, welcome to SailNet. It's good to have you on board - just beware of the Dog.

Back to your problem: Is it a big thing? Little thing? There should be an inspection hatch (round one that unscrews) that should allow you to reach in and get whatever it is - but if not:

For $50, personally, I wouldn't worry about it. If the boat breaks, you can decide whether or not to fix whatever broke then. Go sailing! Enjoy!! Even though it seems most here spend their entire lives fixing things, that's what having a boat is all about.
