No kidding. When the economy's down, the manufacturers don't mess around when they've got someone who wants to buy a boat. They don't get paid until the boat gets delivered, so there you have it.
Actually, I'm going to start another thread at some point when it's all done, the boat's commissioned fully, and we take her away. Our dealer was absolutely amazing. The boat was delivered to the dealer last Tuesday afternoon, so they've had the boat one day more than a week. In that time, they de-waxed and sanded the bottom, did a full barrier coat (5 coats of Interprotect), two coats of bottom paint, two coats of wax on the topsides, installed a generator, installed an autopilot, installed some additional electronics (E80 at nav station, repeater for wind, moved the bow thruster control), installed an inverter/charger and a Link 2000, installed the radar, ordered and painted the anchor chain, installed the name and hailing port, arranged for the canvas to be installed (tomorrow), launched the boat, stepped the rig, bent on the jib, and have started on the standard commissioning list. I am flat out amazed at how much they've done in a week. Now, of course, because everything got installed so fast I could just see everything falling apart in the first day or so, but hopefully that won't happen.
