Hunter Xcite 10

There is a new Hunter Xcite 10 for sale near me. It is new, but had some small damage in shipping that has been repaired. The boat comes with a dolly, two sails, and two sets of spars for some reason. I am looking for a small day sailor such as a Banshee, Hobie Holder 12, or something like that. This boat looks pretty good. And the price for all this is terrific. It looks like I can get a brand new trailer for under $400 as well. Does anybody know anything about this boat? I have seen pictures on line, but there is no information on the Hunter website, as they must have stopped making the boat in 2006. It looks like they only made these for about 4 years. The boat is 10 feet long with a self bailing cockpit, boom vang, etc. Looks nice, but fairly small. I weigh 170 pounds. Any thoughts?

Dndrich,
we're talking about 400.00. Its a great deal
For that price you can try it a few years decide for yourself or bring it home and sell it on ebay making some money. the dolly and sails should be more than 400.

No, I didn't explain myself. I can get the boat with all the stuff for $1800. I can get a trailer for under $400. Not as good a deal! But, still a good deal for a brand new boat with all the trimmings.

blt2ski will become famous soon enough
Being as that article stated a new boat is listed at $2000'ish, 1800 and 400 for a trailer and a repaired boat, granted new........I'd be shooting for $2000 for everything. But your the buyer, looks to be a fun boat to learn etc.

On the other hand, I would assume some kind of a warrenty is on the boat, so that might be worth a buck or two also.

In the end, from your posts, this frankly, looks like the best deal you have so far, granted the most $$, but still a good way to go.

The article was a bit old with the pricing. The boat I think retailed for close to $2800 last year. This boat is basically brand new, and although not a bargain, I think is probably a good value. It comes with a whole extra set of spars, and a dolly. What I will do with the extra set of spars...who knows! But the dolly is nice. Since it is basically a new boat, if I don't like it and sell it, I expect I would not get out of it what I paid for it, so that is a chance. But I like the idea of having a boat that won't be a project to get running the way I want, and one that looks very durable. It is a boat I should enjoy single handing, and could possibly put a kid on it with me too in light winds.
