Well, we bought Shimmer site unseen 2 months ago down in PV Mexico...

Jess and I got married on the 2nd of this month!!! between that and work we have not had a chance to get down there yet, lol. Jess will be flying down on the 28th to take make lists of what is needed to bring her back to S.D. in Oct. More picts can be seen at

All we have atm are the pre-purchase picts jess will be taking a load of new picts while down there. the boat was found on lectonic latitudes by a friend and a link mailed to us. We bought her for $10,000, she is a 1969 41' morgan centerboard and fitted for the most part for blue water already. One of those "you have to be *******" deals :-) sold the old gulfstar for a loss, lol but ended up with a much much better boat.

Yes she is the centerboard model, the "Good" Morgan not the I/O but the blue water one based on Charlie Morgan's earlier racing models a good review of them can be found at.

This one has had the centerboard removed and the keel filled and painted so it is no longer a centerboard :-(

Jess should be landing in about 3 hours so I will know more soon, lol.

ok, long and short :-) jess went down last month after the wedding and started to clean the boat and take stock. She talked the marina down from $750 a month to $550, still to much if you ask me.

here are some picts she took while down on the boat, had the motor pulled out and getting rebuilt right now total cost for ground up rebuild, some glass work in the engine compartment, engine wired brushed and painted comes out to $4600. still waiting for the right parts to come in. Not sure if we are going to do the "Baja Bash" up to San Diego in time or not depends on weather and if the motor is ready, other then that, and adding a fridge I could sail her Fiji today the way she is fitted out. We got REAL lucky!!! lol
