My wife and I have sold the house and are driving across the country (from WA) to the SE (FL up to VA) in search of a well maintained, cruise equipped boat to take us to the Caribbean this winter... If all goes well. We really admire the Ted Brewer designed Morgan 382,3, and 384 from the early 80's and this boat is tops on our list. We however are located in the Pacific NW and haven't had the chance to get aboard one as there are not any for sale here... If anyone has one in the Seattle-Puget sound-San Juans area and would be kind enough to let us have a look and talk about their boat for a bit, we would be most appreciative! This said, other boats that have caught our interest are Canadian Sailcraft 36, Sabre 38, Ericson 38. We like having the double quarterberth or aft cabin, a nice galley and seperate shower as well as a boat that performs well to wind and doesn't draw too much (under 5.5ft).
As we don't have lots of time, we are hoping to find one that is fairly ready to go. I know that no boat is perfect, and I plan on spending a month doing nothing but making sure the boat would be ready for the offshore trip to the Eastern Caribbean Islands. I however would not have time to peel a hull and let it dry out, or any other time consuming jobs...
---Wish list---
I am looking for something with a solid rig-hopefully with new chainplates and standing rigging within the last 10 years or so...
I am hoping the boat we buy would have an autopilot, and/or self-steering windvane.
SSB radio
Refrigeration is a must-have, as is a decent gimballed stove/OVEN. Wife is an amazing cook! saltwater footpump would be great.
I am not sure if I would have time to order and have sails made in time for departure, so a decent cruising inventory is important.
A windlass that is functioning.
A dry boat with well bedded hardware.
A nice electrical system with either solar or wind charging capabilities.
---Hoping not to see...
No delamination, flooded rudders, soft decks etc.
Large blister problems.
Messy corroded electrical
Boat must survey well...
We are fine with some work and projects, reaphostery of cushions, refinishing of wood, but are really looking for a pretty nice boat that is in good to excellent shape. We are hoping to pay from 50 to 70K.
This may be too much to ask, but I think our boat is out there! You never know unless you ask. We have searched yachtworld (lots)and have a few we are going to check out when we get there.
If anyone knows of a boat like this please email or reply!

We would be interested in the right boat anywhere from Florida to the Chesapeake!
Thanks!!!
