Surveyor needed N. Carolina

We are looking for a thorough surveyor in the New Bern/Oriental area for a 36 foot sailboat! Any recomendations would be great as we are not from this area. We also need to have an engine survey done as there are turbo issues... Any good diesel mechanic/surveyors? Thanks for the help!

The best surveyor in New Bern is Rob Ellerbee. Check at West Marine
and they probably has his number.

What kind of Sailboat are you looking at?

Thanks Chuck, you are the second person who recommends him. We are looking at a Bayfield 36. Sounds like it needs some engine work also... Dont know if you have any recommendations on that. I really want someone to go through it before we buy it and get estimates and see what the situation is...

Check with Deatons down in Oriental on the engine. First class mechanics there.

We have an offer on a Catalina 30 in Oriental. We're having Rob Eberle survey it. We got nothing but good opinions from the locals. If anything, a few people suggested that his reports are too detailed - tho that seems to me akin to having too much money. Anyway, if looking for a place to stay while in Oriental, I highly reccomend the Captain's Quarters B&B. Annick are Roy were the most gracious hosts.
