Anyone with information regarding this "roberts" pirated design built by Masters boatbuilding in Fl around 1980? Most were owner finished and ranged from shoddy to good finishes. I am trying to find info on the seaworthiness of this boat, especially the stability, as the keel design was altered from the original Roberts design. This boat is a centre cockpit and has very nice lines.

I nearly went to see one for sale in Port Colborne, Ontario, in the winter of 2005, but decided against it when I read some comments on the "shoddy" construction of some of them.

It was suspiciously cheap: $135,000.

But if you find a good one, it might be worth a look. Being a Roberts, anything is possible: They are supposedly great boats when built to spec, but 4 out of 5 that I've seen are either poorly built, butt-ugly or overbuilt to the point of needing a half-gale to get going.
