Has anyone heard of or know about a Jonmeri 40? There's one for sale here in Australia. I haven't seen it yet but from what the broker tells me and from the photos, this is a very nice looking boat but is it up there with all the other blue water boats?

I don't know much at all about these boats , other than to say I have been aboard one and would love to have owned it!! It was a very nice looking boat, and seemed well suited for blue water work. In the boat I was aboard, there was a navigation area immediateately as you came down the companionway, it was a dedicated area, seperated from the forward part of the boat (salon etc, by a bulkhead and passageway, I believe there wqas a berth , quarter berth I guess it was, wert locker, , but can't recall much more. The joinery, I recall as being quite good. Sorry I can't provide more than this.

Thanks to Midnight sailor for his comments re Jonmeri 40. It would seem they are about as rare as boats get but I agree, they are a very nice looking craft. I hope others out there know something about them.

We meet a couple in New Zealand that were sailing around the globe, their boat name is Zen. Beautiful boat that they sailed from Conneticut, usa. I am now looking a another Jonmeri 40 that is for sale. I like the looks of it but question the small forward cockpit. All around the boat is certainly a blue water boat.

Jonmeri

The Jonmeris are built in Finland by Maestro. Both have websites.
JONMERI Yachts, Maestro Boats homepage

I'm currently looking at a 35' on the west coast.

Amazing. I'm sure WemSail is no longer around, given one post in Feb and nothing since but we ran into Zen in Sydney early this year.

The slightly odd cockpit configuration I found disconcerting as well, but to my mind she was a fine looking boat.
