I bought a boat today!

It's a project boat. Needs a motor, paint and running rigging to get her ready for next summer, then a lot of interior work and a million other things to get her the way I want her, but hey, I only paid $750.00 so what the heck

It's a 1973 DS 20. I'll sail it on our little lake close to home for now.

She has a brand spanking new - never used - genoa (furling), looks to be about 150% and a rather old but ok looking mainsail.

Cool. It's hard to tell from just the one pic but it doesn't look too bad. If nothing else it at least has a trailer

Congrats. We had a couple DS 16s locally and they were good sailing boats.

$750 for 20 feet of ANYTHING you can float on is a good price. ;-)

The boat is all there. The deck is solid as is the hull. There is some tabbing that needs to be fixed inside. The PO made a 2 part companion way door that is hinged at the sides and meets in the middle for some reason. The problem is that rain water could get in between the door sections so it didn't stay dry inside (been on the hard for a year). The bulkheads stayed wet for a year. They are not rotten but the tabbing came loose in places. I will dry out the boat and then fix the tabbing using epoxy and glass.
