Hunter Rudder Problems

I have recently purchased a Hunter 466 and have had a rudder problem where the rudder blade has seperated from the rudder post. Has anyone else had an issue with rudder failure, particularly on a 466.

Check with Foss Foam--they build rudders for Hunter as new and replacements.

I had a similar problem with my rudder about a year and a half ago. I removed the rudder and ground out the fiberglass from around the shaft that had fractured. It was not difficult but it was slow. Once I was down to solid material again, I poured in a new fiberglass mixture and let it cure. The repair worked great and has held now for a year and a half.
