Newport 32 ?

Anyone have any experience with these? good, bad, indifrent? Are these boats you''d feel comfortable leaving the country on? I''m looking at a 1968. What should I look out for? Any pointers on making them better sailers, and or proactive things to prevent issues from happening? Thanks.

If you are talking about about the Newport line of boats built by Capital Yachts in California, I am familar with the 31. I owned one from ''89 to ''94. It was strictly a coastal cruiser. It had the best acccomodations of any boat it''s size that I''ve seen. Well used space and great storage. It did have some bad habits though. It was tender an developed vicious weather helm if slightly overcanvased. You needed to reef early and often.I had no problems whatsoever with the boat or systems.
