Bristol 38.8 Ted Hood design

I am looking at the above boat and have been impressed with many aspects. I have searched this site and found some information here but haven't found anything that speaks directly to the pros and cons of the Ted Hood keelboard design. I would appreciate comments re: pointing ability, maintanence, noise while in the down position etc.

Thanks in advance, Wannabe4

The 38.8 is a great boat, here's several sources of info:
1. The Bristol Owner's Association: Bristol Owners' Association Home Page
2. The Bristol thread on this site:
3. The very active Bristol owners group: BristolYachts : Bristol Yachts

Also look at the Wauquiez 38 of the same vintage. Same basic hull fitted out differently. Both are great boats.

I have now read just about everything I can find online about the Bristol 38.8 and almost all information is very positive. But I haven't been able to find anything re: noise from the centreboard as the boat rolls, especially downwind.

Can anyone comment on this? John Drake are you out there?

Camaraderie, I'll check those posting rules, thanks.
