Need Annap/Baltimore Surveyor

I have purchased a new boat that is being shipped to Baltimore from Europe. Need a surveyor to inspect boat with me when it arrives in the port on the day of arrival. Any good contacts for this?

Thanks.
Jon

Jon:

Peter Hartogg is often recommended for folks in your situation. Insurance and loan agents hate him; his surveys are too detail oriented and they don''t like wading thru it. For the rest of us, that''s a good thing. He''s done 2 surveys for me and I found both of them thorough given the time available, well documented, but most importantly, I appreciated the ability to talk at length with him after the survey about some of his findings. Good perspective offered, not just "data".

I recommend Jack Hornor. In addition to being a surveyor, he''s also a naval architect. He does boat reviews for SpinSheet magazine, Chesapeake Bay Magazine, Sailing, and the Boat/US magazine. In short, he knows his stuff. His number is 410-451-8133.

Thanks for the recommendation. Do you happen to have any contact info for Peter?
