Thoughts on Seawind 1000XL

I am considering buying one for coastal cruising on Long Island Sound and Southern New England. Will mostly be for my wife and I, though we will sometimes cruise with our 8 year old twins. I will also do a bunch of single handed day sailing in LIS. I am interested in perspectives, particularly anyone who owns/owned one or other Seawind models.

Thanks in advance.
