I have seen her in person. You just stand in awe. Under sail she is nothing but grace and beauty.

Sorry but if I had all the $ in the world NO WAY would I buy under 50ft, why make myself miserable on long passages. You do not need more people to sail a 50 than a 44.

Well, you might be right but the guy who built my boat has its 50'' big brother and on it he and his wife have done two big one around this old ball. Made his money building sails and selling real estate.
He tells me in no uncertain terms, that a big boat takes lots more work and teamwork
and that he will never do it with just two again. Oh by the way he is the vic chairman of the board of directors of the Seven Seas Crusing Assoc.

If my health,(back ) would allow I''d keep the 32'' er I have. She is custom built and custom designed for long, long ocean passages.

Jeff:
Morgan Embroden''s design named Cannibal would fit you to a tee however she has no water ballast and her draft is 4''6" with her boards up. She easily powers at 10 knots, sails like a witch and has 500 gallons of fuel and 300 in water. She''s done two big one and numerous trips to Hawaii. Finished 2nd boat for boat in one of them.
Best cruising interior I''ve ever seen in a 50'' boat.

On paper, I like the Outbound 44. Seems well thought out and has a customizable interior. The H-R 43 is a nice looking boat, but I would prefer a bit less teak to have to take care of.

Fair winds,
John

I would buy a Cabo Rico 40/42. She is my dreamboat, made in Puerto Rico, solid as a rock. Actually I would settle for a 34/36 any day. She has been in production for 35 years and 80% of present owners are original owners.
