Solid GRP / skeg mounted rudder

I''m looking for a production boat currently being built today that fits the following criteria: 36''-40'', solid GRP, skeg mounted rudder, aft cockpit, sloop or cutter. The only boat I know of that fits the bill is the Pacific Seacraft 37. Thanks for the help.

I believe the Caliber 40LRC may have some coring in places, but it definitely has a full skeg rudder, aft cockpit, and is cutter rigged (I believe with a movable stay).

First, confirm whether the Caliber has solid GRP, but even if not, don''t dismiss this boat lightly.

I think there are quite a few out there.

The Gozzard 37 not solid GRP, but The coring material is eliminated and replaced with a solid glass laminate in the areas of the sheer line, centerline, keel, rudderpost, and thru-hulls. Pretty solid boat though.

There are many boats being produced with solid GRP hulls, but Nauticats also have uncored decks. There may be others, but I''m unaware of any in production. Due to Nauticat''s low-profile ad campaign, most people associate the Nauticat name with their line of traditional motorsailors (NC-331, 38, 44), but there is also a line of pilothouse sailboats (NC-321, 37, 39, 42, 515). These also feature skeg mounted rudders, lead fin keels and aft cockpits (despite a recent magazine ad calling the NC-37 a center cockpit). However, these also have aft owner''s cabins like center cockpit boats, which does limit lazarette space.

The solid GRP construction and pilothouse makes for a heavy boat, but they haven''t been impeded with inefficient full keels. The NC-42 I test sailed pointed surprisingly well even in a light to moderate breeze (far better than the comparably-priced Island Packet). It offered fit and finish at a semi-custom level, and better build quality than the IP420, so I voted with my checkbook, and we are awaiting delivery of a new 42 (pictures on my personal SailNet page. Also see www.nauticat.com). The pilothouse layout isn''t for everybody, but it should extend our sailing years and and range considerably.

The 37 is Nauticat''s newest design, so they may be hard to find used, The 39 is still in production and has been around a few years, but is also uncommon on the used US market.
