lesdear is on a distinguished road
shallow draft with 2 staterooms under $65k

first off, i am just beginning to look around for a shallow draft sailboat with 2 private staterooms for coastal cruising and maybe living aboard. it doesn't have to be fast or new and definitely not expensive. i am very familiar with powerboats and have some ideas about their quality, but i know very little regarding sailboat quality. i like the idea of a cruising cat but they are way out of my price range ( less than $65k). the morgan out island seems to be a good option for me. i live on the gulf coast and would be cruising primarily to the keys and bahamas, maybe carib. and possibly northeast for the summer. again, needs are shallow draft, 2 private staterooms, under $65k. any other recs?

Might be able to get a Catalac 8m catamaran in that price range, or an Iroquois.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
