Your Opinion on the Precision 165

Going to look at a Precision 165 tomorrow. Right now it sits under the "likely" column as far as purchasing goes.

Can I get some opinions on it?

For help:
I am a beginning sailor
I will be a college student
I am average sized, 5'9", 150 lbs
The lake is located about 5 minutes from said college
Only sailing is allowed on this lake, no power boats, no swimmers, no nothing.
I would like to be able to at least take one person with me, perhaps two or even three (maybe?)
The boat was built in 2004, bought new in 05 and has only had one owner (who is quite OCD about boat maintenance)

Does the boat come with a trailer??? Do you have a car capable of towing the trailer? Where would you store the boat during the season? Where would you store the boat during the off-season?

When you're in college, it generally makes far more sense to join a sailing club than it does to buy a boat IMHO. A boat requires regular maintenance, even if you're not using it. It requires someplace to store it.

While there is less to inspect on such a small boat, I would still recommend you read the Boat Inspection Trip Tips thread I started, as it will help you determine whether this boat is worth looking further at.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
