Smile Tanzer 16' Info

Checked the archives and it seems that this is the only model that is lacking a review. Found one for sale recently and am curious how these llittle boats sail and handle? Looking for a nice daysailer to set up quick 1-4 people tops, and can be trailered behind my little Honda Civic. The weight seems to be cbout right on these and the lines are relatively nice.

Any light you might be able to shed on these boats is greatly appreciated!

Have you seen the class website? Lots of info there.

Tanzer16 Class Association

I've never sailed on but it would probably be a very good boat for your needs. The old Tanzers were very solidly built.

Thanks t22cayuga!

I have visited that site a few times and thank you for the link. I was just looking for first hand knowledge of how quick they are to set up and rig, what their charactaristics were like under sail, how they point, etc...

There is quite a fleet down south, butI am finding little support for the Tanzer here in New England....just don't seem to be too many of them around, and there is no google group or anything like that for them which would be really helpful. I guess I can try to contact the members in North Carolina about the boat, though they seem to be more interested in racing. I will keep trying!

Thanks again!
Chris
