Need rec for a boat...

I am working on a television show in which we hope to feature a yacht race. I need recs on a size and type boat for a 6 person crew. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Alyse

Need rec for a boat...

J 105''s would be perfect. They are real race boats that are typically raced with crews of 6. Their pretty common and are fast enough to be interesting and yet docile enough to film without risk.

Where you''re filming may have some impact, too. J105''s are pretty widespread, but you could also go with Tartan 10''s in the Great Lakes. For that many people, you''ll generally need a boat over 30 feet long, with lots of strings that need pulling. If you want to play the underdog/bully scene, you could do some PHRF fleet racing as well, with the six-man crew getting pooh-poohed by the 15 guys on the BIG boat.
