Pearson 37

Hi,

I have been looking for a well appointed sloop in the 36 to 40 foot range. I want a boat that is good in light air, but heavy enough not get too squirrely
when the wind pipes up. I need to stay in the 40 to 60 thousand dollar range.
I have considered Tartan 37s, Cs36t, I posted a thread on a Contessa 35, and I would love a clean NY40, but I think it will be out of my price range. How about the Pearson 37 cruiser/racer? They only built 40 something boats and you don't see to many on the used boat market. I know what buying a Pearson generally means, but the 37 was a different design than the more traditional heavy cruisers. They had Balsa cored hulls, but I not sure the core extended below the water line. Practical Sailor thought enough about the boat to do an extensive review, but that was almost 10 years ago. Calling any current Pearson 37 owners out there. How are your boats holding up? Give me the good and the bad and especially the ugly.

Thanks,
pkilty
