Ok, I'll answer the question as asked by the OP, " What kind of boat is this?"
It looks like a sail boat to me, but what do I know.

This is like a joke on the radio and you lose the transmission before the punch line is delivered.

Just so I have a chance at looking brilliant when you find out....I say Linjett. Of course someone with real knowledge will likely find something in the photo to discount my guess.

Linjett seems like a close guess, but I don't think so:

The old 32 model looks like the closest match:

DDDD,

This is in no way an area of knowledge for me....I was just playing along for fun during some free time at the desk, but I was thinking more in the early 90's Linjett. I think you have the length about right.

Beautiful boats, both the OP's pic and the Linjetts, but I don't think they're the same either... none of the Linjetts have the distinctive sheer stripe detail, and the hatch arrangements don't match exactly.

I'll be interested to know just what this one turns out to be!! and to my eye it looks closer to 37/38, but that can be deceiving.

I agree with Faster on size, think it's at least 35', maybe more. It's a bit too sleek for a shorter boat I think. But other than earlier suggestions, haven't a clue. Somebody?
