New Boat Values

Is there a source for new boat prices similar to what you'd find for real estate (Comps)? Neither the MFGs or dealers list prices on their web sites. I'm trying to compare models and prices.

I looked for "new boat prices" to try and analyze boat depreciation on 10 year old boats, but the best I could do was find old boat reviews that sometimes posted estimate sail-away prices in them. In fact, thats where I would look even for current new boat prices...a sail review by one of the glossy magazines usually now includes an estimate of sailaway price.

I hear that there is an "MLS" esque access to Yachtworld, but only brokers have access to it. Even then, I dont know if they post prices to new boats...its mostly used to comp-shop used boats.

BoatUS has a boat value feature. I have used it once and found it to be good, not an on line database, but a form you fill out and a real person responds in a few days.
