Looking at ODay 40 and Tartan K/Cb for cruising in Lake Michigan. Any thoughts?

The O''Day will be fine Lake Michigan cruiser, so will the Tartan, but the Tarten will take you anywhere in the world, while the O''Day will not. If you are going to stay on the Great Lakes, save your money and do the O''Day if all else is equal.

I appreciate the feedback. I have no immediate plans of leaving the Great Lakes but would like a solid boat. How does the O''Day (15 years old)compare to a Hunter, for example?

Depends on the O''Day and the Hunter. There is not an O''Day made that is any more seaworthy than my 1979 Hunter 37-Cutter. There are several H37C''s "out there". Mine will be someday but for now Lake Erie is home.
