Any comments? Looking to buy a 37 foot Endeavor A Plan

Looking for any tips or recommendations. I am 24, run my own businesses, have sailed for a few years, and are looking at a late 70s Endeavor 37 A Plan as my first boat! My fiancee is 20 and supports this as we live near Galveston and also have a condo in South Padre that we visit often.

I am looking for any tips from boat owners as my hours are flexible and I Love the ocean.

What do you think of the Endeavour? (I like the A Plan layout and have read good reviews on the sturdiness of this boat. I cannot beat the price on size and layout on any other model).
Should I begin my journey by exploring the bays first?
Any great spots out in the Gulf Coast?
Best ports to visit on the way to Panama?

Any other tips are definitely appreciated as well.
