looking for a slip

I''m looking for a place to keep my boat (36ft) year round in Florida. Prefer mid east or SE coast, or SW. Intend to cruise the Keys and Bahamas primarily. I''ve been searching the net, making some contacts and coming up empty. Would appreciate any referals.
Thanks in advance

Here in Cape Coral there are folks advertising to rent their dock space behind their house. the water depth is an average of 5'' around these canals and offers access to the gulf quite readily. Its about 18hrs to Kew west due south and the Okeechobee canal will dump you out accross the state above Ft. lauderdale. Check the Ft Myers News-Press online. There you''ll find the classified ads and can look for dock space. My Catalina 30 will be gone after Jan 6 and you are welcome here, but sooner or later I''m going to get another boat and there isn''t room for 2 sailboats.
You can also check Punta Gorda and Naples. there are canals in Ft Lauderdale/Miami area as well.

Kaweeka,
Thanks for the response. I won''t be hauling south until late Jan or early Feb. I''ll continue to search until I run out of time. I''ve called and emailed numerous marinas - all full. Then, after spending yesterday holiday shopping with my wife, driving in circles waiting on a parking space, it occured to me. This may be the real reason sailors circumnavigate - they can''t find a place to dock!
