The Soling is a classic one design racer, which certainly is stable enough to handle winds to the mid 20s with proper sail adjsutments, is not a very comfortable boat. Beefy crew are nice for windy days, but I see plenty of single skippers driving Solings.
If you wont be carrying kids or novices, it may be fine for you, but otherwise you'd be better off considering a daysailer-style boat, one with seats: Sonar, Rhodes19, even a J22
