amel santorin

I am seeking comments on the Amel Santorin. Would love to hear from anyone who knows anything about them. They appear to be a good option for a couple looking for a long distance liveaboard cruising yacht. Any comments?

Great choice for a long distance liveaboard. No exposed wood to varnish. Little idiosynchratic layout but good passagemaker.

French built so metric and some kit can be hard to get one for one replacements for.

I would buy one if I could afford it.

I sailed an Amel Mango 35,000 miles. Amels are well engineered and built. The Santorin is a nice model just slightly smaller than the super maramu. Most of the size difference is in the galley. My biggest problem with Amels is the electric furling especially the main. You loose a lot of drive with in mast furling. I would try to find a sloop rather than the ketch.
