I have not sailed a Typhoon Senior but I have owned and restored it's little sister, the Typhoon Weekender. With the exception of the Senior's extended coachroof and extra port, I doubt the casual observer could tell any difference between the two...it's just on a slightly larger scale. That said, I found the Typhoon very well balanced when properly trimmed and had an excellent motion in a chop. I would expect nothing less with the Senior ...same builder and pinned by Carl Alberg. Although she probably won't win any races around the cans, for a daysailor and an occassional weekender, I think you would find her a well behaved and stable platform.
Hopefully, someone that has owned one will be along shorty, but in the meantime here's a site with more info on CDs. Love the boats!
