Buccaneer 305 Advice

OK i dont want to bring up old threads so im starting anew. Ive been reading alot of posts that bash the BUCCANEER by Bayliner. I was wondering what people thought of the 1978 305 model. I have a chance to pick one up for 5k. But im the type of person that if i bought it i would want to cruise to the bahamas or hawaii. Is this boat worthy of the trip or should i keep looking for something else?

I'd suggest for 5K there's gotta be some major issues.... This boat has a cored hull so I'd look hard there first. I believe it's a Bill Garden design, very different from the Buccaneer 29/US30.

A friend had one, leaky hull ports left him with badly saturated core.. after being in the yard for a couple of years it's back in the water, but it was a big job and I'm not sure how he knew he truly had it fixed.

Eyes wide open on this one.. not the worst Buccaneer, but.......
