Mid 45 - 55 CC 500k +/-

I am looking to add to my search for the perfect "East Coast/Caribbean" retirement boat... No intentions of going farther – yet ….

Still have a few years to get the kids out - but I really enjoy the planning....

All these would be min 5 years old.. Some much older... Here is what I have so far;

Hylas 49, Passport 47, Hallberg-Rassy 48, Oyster 49 and Little Harbor, Alden, Bristol’s in the 50ft range……

I know these boats may be a bit of overkill for my intended use – but they are soooo damn pretty and you only live once… Plus I like resale value…

Any thoughts?

If you're just going to be sailing those areas, you might want to look at Chris White's Atlantic 42 series catamarans as well. Shoal draft will open a lot more anchorages for you, and the Atlantic 42 is a proven bluewater cruiser. They hold their resale value quite well as well. They'll probably also offer more room that the boats you have listed.

Agree 100% - problem is - I am old school and cats just are not aesthetically pleasing..... If I could get over that I would be all over the Antares 44...
