The age old question...buy it new and use it? Or buy it used and make it new again by refinishing? Any thoughts? I've got time and SOME (not a lot) of money on my side, if that helps.

I for one could use some clues Chris.
Are we talking about sailboats, outboards, dinghy's, screws, paint?
If boats, any particular size, make, model, intended use?

This is a conversation I like to get into but I would like to know where to get started. If it is philosophical question we have another section for that.
