Re: Interesting Sailboats

The new Linjett 43, features a ballasted liftingkeel, that reduces the draft from 2.45m to 1.9m. Interresting here is, that the keel can also swing back 70cm in case of a grounding. It softens the grounding on a rock at 8 knots enough to prevent damage. While some swingkeel boats also have this option, this seems to be the first liftingkeel with this advantage.

It looks like a floating summer appartment for me. It seems that when they call a boat "cruiser" it means it is for staying at the port and do nice partys on it.
The winches aren't too close?

It would certainly be a great partyboat. We will see what the final interior looks like, but I hope there will be handholds, and a better solution for the chartplotter location/ nav table setup is found. She does have a nice seagoing galley, with the sink inboard and easy to wedge yourself in.
The winches do look a little close, but they are both accessible from the helm. It appears, that all lines are brought back to clutches within reach from the helm, so singlehanding should be easy with the two winches at the clutch. I also like the fact that the mainsail arch has a traveller and it tells me that performance was important to the designer. Grand Soleil and it's parent Sly are both known for quality and performance, we'll see what the final product looks and sails like.
I think she will be much more than a harborqueen.... , at least a very expensive one.
