GULFSTAR BLISTERS

I am looking for a new boat and have looked at a couple of Gulfstar 44''s. Both have blisters. One has serious blisters. Does anyone have any experience with blister issues on Gulfstars. I have been told it is a common problem which can be difficult to solve in a long term way. Are some models more prone to blisters than others. I am looking at boats built in 1980 and 1981. Any comments would be appreciated.
