Surveyor in Palmetto (Sarasota) Area

I was pleased to see the recommendation posted in response to the question of a marine surveyor in the Clearwater, FL area which will be helpful to me.

But does anyone have a recommendation of a surveyor in the Palmetto/Sarasota area?

Even if you don''t have a name, can you suggest a way of finding someone?

Mike Davenport is a local surveyor here in Sarasota. I''ve met him a few times, and I''m an acquaintance (through my profession) of his wife. I''ve also looked at a boat that he had done a survey on, and receieved a copy of it - seemed to be plenty thorough. Anyway, maybe a place to start.

Otherwise, I would suggest calling some of the yards around, or try Regatta Point in Palmetto. Several brokerages up there that could recommend someone I''m sure. Massey Yacht sales up there has been helpful to me in the past.
