Good design by Holman & Pye, well built as are all Wauquiez boats, but love it or hate it looks. And a ketch rig that not everybody desires. The Hood designed Wauquiez 38 is more popular, especially for offshore use.
I can't think of a boat I like where the stern is higher than the bow.

Thanks for feedback. I understand few of Amphoras were manufactured, but I saw one that was sloop rig. Do you know if they were all designed originally as ketch rig? or any advice where I can determine what is proper rig(s) for the Amphora?

Both sloop and ketch rigs are "proper" as both were designed by Holman & Pye. A sloop will be the better performer and in that size boat the sails aren't large enough to need a ketch rig.

A link to one Amphora / Amphitrites forum

It's in French , but some infos are available in english

Le monde des Amph's - Amph's World

Hope It will help you.

However what I can tell you, is that the building quality of Wauquiez can be compared line with nordic shipyards like HR
