Insurance
It looks like we are purchasing a '87 Hunter 40. Pretty exciting and a little scary!! Survey and sea-trial went well -- came up with a list of mostly small items. Even still -- there is a lot of stuff to do to try and hold to our goal of taking it south yet this fall.
Anyway, task for right now is insurance. We have several quotes and I thought I'd just ask if anyone has had good (or of even more interest BAD) experience with the following companies:
BoatUS (most expensive quote)
IMIS/Great Lakes Reinsurance
IMIS/Markel
Jackmartin/INAMAR (best price)
Hartge/Travelers
BoatUS was quite a bit more expensive doesn't have the option of insuring beyond the Bahamas. Only Great Lakes insures all of the Carribean (we don't really know if we will make it further than the Bahamas though... it would be nice to go with a company that at least provides that option.) INAMAR would maybe extend into Caribbean once we have a little more time and no claims with them.
Anyway, just wondering if anyone has any bad claim stories or anything with these companies.
Thanks!
