Freedom 24 (1979) quality and charicteristics???

There is a freedom 24 that has been up for sale in my area for some time now and I know nothing about the build quality and characteristics of the boat. It has a PHRF rating around 160 and for a trailer boat that seems pretty fast which makes me wonder about its sailing characteristics and what was compromised to get that type of performance. Also I was wondering about coring issues and such. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Really just kicking tires till spring but trying to get as much information as I can on the various boats out there.

Thanks,

Gary

tommays will become famous soon enough
It was built by the same builder as the Jboats of the time with the same balsa core concerns from leaks getting the core wet

The 160 sounds a bit fast for a 24'

If a dirty bottom slows you down what do you think it does to your boat

160 is fast. I realized I was looking at numbers for a freedom 24-2 a 2k's go-fast boat, not even close to the same animal. Thanks for the info on the core concerns.
