Bristol 27 in MD

Hello, all.

Browsing the [edit] listings on YW I came across this:

1978 Bristol Yacht 277 sailboat for sale in Maryland

The chap selling was good enough to send me a quite complete selection of photographs and a survey from 1999, when he last changed insurers. The survey was favourable on those matters important, moisture etc, although of course that was 11 years ago. He's selling now due to relocation, he says.

Now this is just the sort of thing I'm looking for, apparently, a moderately clean "official" blue water boat that needs a little TLC of the kind I can provide myself. Paint, minor engine tinkering. This leads to two major questions: One, why does he want $6000 for it, and two how much, in a ballpark, to get it from MD to MI?

Opinions? Warnings?

Dunno about transport costs, but the term, "priced to move" could be the sellers motivation.

In that picture I don't see a boom, propeller, backstay, lifelines, bow rail, or any running rigging.

By the owner's admission it needs a new prop shaft and cutlass bearing, and obviously a good sand down and a lick of paint. Lifelines, boom, etc are allegedly stored as the boat's been on the hard for a year. I'm about to dispatch Agent Chef to take an eyeball when I find out exactly where the boat is.

Cheapest quote so far from MD to MI is $1800 plus change. Hmm...
